Alenka Kraigher is a professional actress and film director who works between Ljubljana and New York. 
After graduating in film and TV directing at AGRFT, Slovenia, she moved to the US where she studied acting at HB Studio. 

In New York she starred opposite actor Willem Dafoe in a lead role which The New Yorker magazine placed among top 5 performances of the year. She has regularly collaborated with acclaimed directors Richard Foreman, Fiona Templeton and John Jesurun on the stages of theaters such as The Public Theater, LaMaMa and the NY Theater Workshop, among others. 

Since the start of the pandemic Alenka has made Slovenia her primary base, where she appeared in numerous films and TV series, and is currently working on a screenplay for her first feature film.

Alenka has appeared in feature films Antarctica (with Chloe Levine), The Space Among Us, Wake Me, The Hidden People (with Olafúr Darri Ólaffson) and Father Figure. She received an honorable mention for best actress at the 2021 South Arts and Film Festival in Chile, for her role in the short film Stay Safe.

In 2022 Alenka was awarded The Vesna Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 25th Slovenian National Film Festival, for her protrayal of Jana in the feature film The Space Among Us.

Alenka plays regular recurring roles in slovenian TV series Yes, Chef, Windfall and All My Brother's Girlfriends (all produced by POP TV), and has guest starred in Mysteries of Laura (NBC), Celebrity Ghost Stories (Discovery Channel) as well as Mr. Professor and Cases of Inspector Vrenko (both TV Slovenia), among others.
