Jan Gerl-Korenc was born on May 5, 1998 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He graduated from a Devised Theatre program at York University in Toronto, Canada in 2022. He started acting in school theatre when he was only 10 years old and quickly developed a passion for the craft. His first film breakthrough was in 2015 with Julija in Alfa Romeo. Since then he has appeared in short and feature films in Slovenia and Canada.
